My first name is a last name in my family, and it’s a derivation of a place in Scotland called Stairaird. I found this out when I found an early 20th century book of surnames in my college library.

(Q) Do you have pets?
Yes, a cat named Obi. He came with the name Don Juan, so we changed it to Obi Juan.

(Q) You love people who…?
Treat others the way they would like to be treated.

(Q) The BEST gift you ever received?
When I was in college, my parents shipped me three pints of Graeter’s ice cream, which is a local ice cream that is to die for. Even Oprah Winfrey has raved about it!

(Q) What did you want to be as a kid?
A fashion designer, because I thought my name would make a great name for a fashion line.

(Q) Tell us a little about your work history.
I spent 12 years in the higher educational publishing industry as a content project manager and a production technology analyst. I then went on to pursue a job as a QA editor. I have been freelancing as a writer, editor, and blogger for the last 5 years.

(Q) Do you like Movies?
Yes, I have a lot of movies I’ve watched countless times, like Princess Bride, Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, etc.

(Q) What is one of the craziest thing to happen to you?
Finding out we were having twins!

(Q) Favorite Restaurant?
What’s a restaurant? I don’t eat out much with having twins! But in all seriousness, I love Italian food, and I was taken to Maggiano’s before my husband asked me to marry him.

(Q) What is your favorite music?
My favorite musicians and bands are Toad the Wet Sprocket, Sting, Billy Joel, Ryan Adams, Sheryl Crow…and that’s just a few. I do like Alternative Adult/Folk stations on Spotify.
